Ethiopian Airlines Group has signed a strategic partnership with Nucore Technologies, a global provider of software solutions for airline back-office automation, integration, reporting and analytics, as part of the carrier’s ongoing digital transformation drive.
The collaboration focuses on strengthening Ethiopian Airlines’ B2B distribution and agency sales ecosystem, with Nucore’s technology set to enhance the airline’s Agency Portal through advanced automation, seamless system integration and improved data analytics. The move is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and decision-making for travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), aggregators and corporate customers worldwide.
According to Ethiopian Airlines, the partnership supports the airline’s ambition to modernise its retailing and distribution capabilities while providing trade partners with a more efficient, transparent and scalable digital platform. The upgraded Agency Portal will enable partners to access Ethiopian Airlines’ content more easily, manage transactions efficiently and benefit from enhanced reporting and performance insights.
Commenting on the partnership, Bilen Arefaine, Vice President for ET Holiday & Digital and GCIC Sales, said the agreement represents an important step in the airline’s digital journey. He noted that the enhanced platform will support modern airline retailing standards, including access to direct content, NDC-enabled services, ancillaries and hotel products, alongside flexible payment options and continuous technical support.
The Agency Portal currently serves more than 2,000 active customers across over 100 stations globally, making it a critical component of Ethiopian Airlines’ global sales infrastructure. With the addition of Nucore’s reporting and analytics capabilities, the airline aims to deliver greater data visibility and commercial insight to its partners, enabling them to better understand performance trends and customer behaviour.
From a broader strategic perspective, the partnership aligns with Ethiopian Airlines Group’s Vision 2035 strategy, which seeks to position the carrier among the world’s leading aviation groups through sustained investment in technology, network expansion and service innovation. Digital transformation remains a central pillar of this strategy, particularly as airlines across Africa and globally adapt to evolving distribution models and increasing demand for direct and data-driven engagement with the travel trade.
For Nucore Technologies, the agreement further strengthens its presence in the African aviation market, supporting airlines in modernising legacy systems and building future-ready digital ecosystems.
As Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its global footprint and digital capabilities, the partnership with Nucore Technologies underscores the carrier’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and long-term collaboration with its trade partners.
