Skyward Airlines has announced the appointment of Diana Nyambura as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition for the Kenya-based regional carrier as it strengthens its operational and commercial strategy.
Nyambura previously served as Accountable Manager and General Manager at Skyward Airlines, where she oversaw operational performance, regulatory compliance, and organizational execution. Her experience within the airline is expected to support continuity while advancing efficiency and performance.
The leadership change comes at a time when regional airlines across Africa are navigating a challenging operating environment while seeking to improve commercial performance and market reach.
For regional carriers, executive leadership plays a critical role in shaping distribution strategy, including relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, and charter partners, as well as the development of digital booking capabilities. Improved operational reliability and network performance are also key factors influencing airline visibility and sales across distribution channels.
Skyward Airlines operates domestic passenger and charter services across Kenya, serving a mix of scheduled travelers, corporate clients, and tour operators. Strengthening internal leadership is expected to support the airline’s efforts to enhance service consistency and expand its commercial footprint within the local market.
As competition intensifies in the regional aviation sector, airlines are increasingly focusing on operational discipline and stronger distribution partnerships to improve accessibility and drive sustainable growth.
