Travelport, a leading global travel technology company, has announced a new multi-source content agreement with China Eastern Airlines, giving travel agencies connected to Travelport’s platform access to the airline’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) content.
This agreement enables agencies to shop, book, and manage NDC-based reservations for China Eastern flights, including ancillary services such as cancellations and exchanges. By integrating NDC content into Travelport+, the company’s advanced retailing platform, travel sellers can offer clients more personalized travel options while streamlining booking processes.
Fu Jian, Vice President of Digital Transformation and Business Management at China Eastern Airlines, commented, “This agreement marks an important step in our journey toward NDC adoption, allowing us to scale and encourage its use across agencies and travel retailers.” Damian Hickey, Global Head of Travel Partners at Travelport, added, “Our goal is to make NDC content simple to access and manage for our agency customers, offering a seamless and efficient booking experience.”
China Eastern Airlines, a member of the SkyTeam Alliance and one of China’s three major carriers, operates an extensive global network spanning Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. The partnership strengthens the airline’s digital transformation efforts while giving agencies richer, more flexible content to serve travelers worldwide.
This collaboration highlights the growing importance of NDC in modern airline distribution, as carriers and technology providers work together to enhance content accessibility, expand retailing capabilities, and improve travel agency operations across global markets.
