ValueJet Launches AI Concierge, Becoming the First Airline in the Region to Deploy Conversational AI for Sales and Support

Nigeria’s ValueJet has taken a major step in airline digital transformation with the launch of an AI-powered virtual concierge, positioning itself as the first airline in the region to deploy conversational artificial intelligence for both customer support and ticket sales.

Branded VIKI by the airline, the new AI concierge is built on the KIUT AI platform developed by KIU System Solutions. The solution is designed to engage passengers through natural, conversational interactions, allowing travellers to ask questions, search for flights, and complete bookings in real time without relying on traditional call centres or manual support channels.

The introduction of the AI concierge marks a significant shift in how ValueJet approaches passenger engagement. Rather than functioning as a basic chatbot, the system is directly integrated with the airline’s operational and commercial platforms. This enables the AI to access live data related to schedules, availability, fares, and bookings, ensuring that responses are accurate, contextual, and aligned with real-time airline operations.

ValueJet’s leadership describes the launch as a strategic move to improve service delivery while scaling efficiently. The airline sees artificial intelligence as a key enabler for delivering faster responses, consistent service quality, and improved accessibility for passengers, particularly as demand for digital and self-service solutions continues to grow across Africa’s aviation market.

From a commercial perspective, the AI concierge also plays a direct role in driving revenue. By guiding customers through the booking journey in a conversational manner, the platform supports direct sales while reducing dependency on manual sales processes. This approach allows the airline to optimise distribution costs while maintaining greater control over the customer relationship.

For KIU System Solutions, the ValueJet deployment represents an important milestone in the adoption of AI within airline distribution and customer service across emerging markets. The company notes that the project demonstrates how intelligent automation can move beyond experimentation and deliver tangible commercial and operational benefits for airlines of all sizes.

The launch comes at a time when African airlines are under increasing pressure to modernise their digital infrastructure while keeping costs under control. As competition intensifies and passenger expectations continue to rise, solutions that combine automation, personalisation, and system integration are becoming critical differentiators.

With VIKI now live, ValueJet positions itself at the forefront of airline innovation in the region, setting a benchmark for how African carriers can leverage artificial intelligence to enhance passenger experience, streamline operations, and strengthen direct distribution strategies.
