Nile Air NDC Now Live on Verteil, Opening Direct Access for Travel Agents

Verteil Technologies has announced that Nile Air’s NDC content is now live on its platform, giving travel agents connected to Verteil direct access to the Egyptian carrier’s fares, ancillaries, and booking capabilities outside traditional GDS channels.

The go-live marks another expansion of Verteil’s airline connectivity roster and adds a North African carrier to a platform that has been steadily building its presence across the Middle East and Asia. For agents already on Verteil, the integration means they can now book Nile Air content through a single NDC-enabled interface without requiring a separate GDS booking path.

Nile Air, which operates a network spanning Egypt, the Middle East, and parts of Africa, has been expanding its distribution footprint as carriers across the region look to reduce intermediary costs and deliver richer content to travel sellers. The Verteil integration gives the airline a direct channel to agents who have already migrated or are actively migrating away from legacy GDS workflows.

For travel agencies in Africa and the Middle East, the development is practically significant. Nile Air serves several routes relevant to the African market, and NDC access through a platform like Verteil means agents can potentially access dynamic pricing and seat-level ancillaries that are not consistently available through GDS-distributed content. The quality and completeness of that NDC content will ultimately determine how much booking behaviour shifts.

Verteil, which operates as an NDC aggregator and technology provider connecting airlines with travel sellers, has been growing its airline partnerships across emerging markets. The company’s model positions it as a middle layer between airlines publishing NDC content and the agencies and online travel platforms that consume it – a role that becomes more commercially valuable as NDC adoption accelerates and airlines push harder to shift volume away from traditional distribution.

The Nile Air announcement comes as the broader industry continues to debate the pace and unevenness of NDC adoption, particularly in markets where agency infrastructure and technology readiness vary significantly. Aggregators like Verteil are increasingly central to that transition, offering agencies a lower-friction on-ramp to NDC content without requiring deep technical integration with individual airline APIs.
