Akasa Air has announced its first global distribution agreement, selecting Travelport to make its content available to travel agencies worldwide.
Under the partnership, the Indian airline’s fares, schedules and ancillary services will be distributed through the Travelport+ platform, enabling travel sellers to access and book Akasa Air’s products across multiple markets.
The agreement also gives Travelport preferred distribution status for Akasa Air in India, strengthening the airline’s presence within agency channels in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
For Akasa Air, the partnership supports its next phase of growth as the carrier continues to expand its network and prepares for broader international operations. By enabling global agency access, the airline aims to increase visibility among corporate and leisure travel buyers while supporting revenue growth through indirect distribution.
Travelport noted that the agreement includes access to Akasa Air’s ancillary offerings, allowing travel agencies to sell a broader range of the airline’s products beyond base fares.
The deal reflects ongoing competition among distribution providers to secure partnerships with fast-growing and emerging airlines, particularly in high-growth markets such as India.
Akasa Air, which launched operations in 2022, has been expanding its domestic network and is positioning itself for international expansion as part of its long-term growth strategy.
